This training program prepares the CMT or Medication Aide to administer insulin in a nursing facility or immediate care facility. Students learn about diabetes, the correct protocols for safe and effective administration of insulin, and the symptoms and implications of improper treatment. Students must be an active Missouri CMT or Medication Aide Level 1, and be able to provide a letter of recommendation from a Director of Nurses or Administrator of a long-term care center.
CNA/CMT Instructor & State Examiner
This two-day class provides Missouri RNs the training to teach CNA and CMT classes, as well as administer the state certification exam. Applicants must be Missouri RNs with at least one year experience in long-term care within the last five years, or be currently employed at a long-term care center. Participating RNs will be equipped to teach the CNA and CMT training programs and complete all necessary paperwork for certifying nursing assistants.
